Innovation Challenge for Future Leaders


iCreate@ICAS 2025 is a competition designed to showcase innovative thinking among Sri Lankan undergraduates in developing practical solutions through products, services, apps, or tools that address real-world challenges in sports, health, physical education, wellness, or sports management. This competition is a part of the 2nd International Conference on Applied Sports (ICAS 2025), organized by the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Winners will be awarded the Best Innovation Award and gain exposure to industry mentorship, development support, and potential commercialization.

Applicants are invited to select the main area and relevant subtopic(s) that best align with their innovation or idea. The main areas include Sports Science, Physical Education, and Sports Management, each encompassing various areas. For Sports Science, sub areas include: Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Performance Analysis, Innovations in Sports Technology, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Sport Training Methods, Sport Analytics, and Sport Engineering. Within Physical Education, sub areas cover: Curriculum and Pedagogical Innovations in PE, Physical Literacy, PE in Early Childhood and Primary Education, Inclusive Physical Education Practices, Assessment and Evaluation in PE, and Teacher Training and Professional Development. For Sports Management, sub areas include: Sports Policy and Governance, Event and Facility Management, Marketing and Sponsorship in Sports, Entrepreneurship in Sports and the Digital Society, Legal and Ethical Issues in Sports, Financial Management and Economics of Sport, and Sport Tourism and Adventure Sport.

YouthSpark 2025

Igniting Ideas for a Healthier and Active Nation


YouthSpark 2025 is an idea-level innovation challenge aiming to empower undergraduate students across Sri Lankan universities to create impactful conceptual solutions to address community, educational, and national-level issues related to sports, health, wellness, and physical activity.


Participants are encouraged to submit creative, research-backed, and socially impactful idea proposals that could be implemented in schools, universities, or community settings to create a more active, healthier population.
